Snoop Dogg Calls Girls' Generation 'No Biscuits'
MANILA, Philippines - American rapper Snoop Dogg got the ire of fans of Girls' Generation when he tweeted what appears to be an insult against the Korean group.Last July 8, Snoop Dogg tweeted, "Legs n. thighs. No biscuits" along with a photo of Girls' Generation that showed their legs but with blurred faces. "Biscuit" is a slang for butt.
Many fans found it offensive and posted angry comments and called Snoop Dogg names.
"snoop dog your songs are awesome and i love snsd. But please don't 'diss' a group when you are going to get bashed, think before you post something, just saying," one fan commented.
"Its ok to not like SNSD's figure, but he did not have to use such terms to describe women and disfigure their faces in the picture like that. He can express his opinions in a better way, why be so rude and insulting towards women in general? Thumbs down to him, so not cool," another fan posted on fan forum Soompi.com.
Others said they didn't find Snoop Dogg's post disrespectful.
One fan said, "I don't see it as him dissing them. He's just stating his own opinion. And like others have already stated, Americans have different preferences from Koreans."
Fans were surprised since Snoop Dogg was featured in one of the remix versions of Girls' Generation's song "The Boys."
After three days, Snoop Dogg tweeted about his post in the hope of clarifying the controversy.
He posted, "Today's lesson. from. Professor Snoop. Biscuits = ugly faces. My ladiez @GirlsGeneration. got beautiful faces. Legs n. thighs.
With this he posted a composite photo of himself together with Paris Hilton, Girls' Generation, and fried chicken.
While some fans were appeased by this, others said it was a lame explanation.
